About Us

My father was the first person to expose me to my passion and inspiration: cooking. It all started as I used to watch him cook Sunday breakfast for the family or when he would ask for my help when creating elaborate and creative meals when he invited friends over to our home. As a teenager, one of my favorite activities was buying cooking magazines and books so that I could try interesting recipes and innovative concoctions.

In 1997, I decided to pursue my passion and attend culinary school at the Art Institute in Fort Lauderdale. Despite my love for what I learned, life took me in a different direction where I ended up working in Finance. However, that flame for cooking never burst.

I still love to bring friends and family together for a heartfelt meal.  Always, in the back of my mind, I have wanted to pursue a way to cook for others and show them my recipes. After many nights of thought, test runs, and calculations, I launched this project. With Derlon's Homey Kitchen, I want to offer you the most delicious products made with fresh ingredients and no preservatives made with passion and innovation. Simply, directly from my kitchen to your table....
